Dick Cruger's recent work brings one to a world of whimsy and mechanized-euphoria. Cruger, over the past 25 years, has realized his vision with the finesse of a mature craftsman and the soul of Merlin. To imagine oneself inside one of Cruger's mechanical-memories, is to be transported (literally) to a place where all residents are 9 years old. The charm and magic of Cruger's recent work lifts us into a communal tree-house where all is possibility, and no one is calling you in when the street lights go on.
